Review of Nanook of the North (1922) by Nina S — 06 Jun 2008
Good timing, Netflix; just in time for the heat emergency here in MD. This is a problematic movie, because Flaherty was just making up what a documentary should be. However, he knew Inuit culture intimately, so when he staged scenes, he was trying to be accurate.
It was sad to see the walrus slaughtered.
