Review of Nanny McPhee (2005) by Jackie W — 16 Oct 2008
This was truly an amazing movie. It reminded me a lot of Mary Poppins especially with the MAGIC! I liked her lessons too. And it was a surprise to see that her warts were slowly going away. It was then that I realised that the movie was showing a lot of different meanings.
Like how Nanny McPhee looked terrible when she first came through the door. That symbolised that the children were terrible. Throughout the movie she slowly looked better as the children learnt their lessons.
In the end she look beautiful like the children. I also realised that the little kid Simon was in Love Actually with Colin Firth. Even though bits of the movie was predicable like when Aunt Adelaide came to collect a girl.
It was obvious that she was going to take Angela for the education. And how Angela was going to end up with Mr Brown. It was really interesting to see that Emma Thompson actually wrote the screenplay and stared in the movie.
