Review of Nanking (2007) by Cynthia M — 06 Jun 2008
Part documentary and part theater- but all of it still stemmed from the truth. The Japanese invasion, abuse, and savage taking of Nanjing China in WWII is gracefully capture here through a thread of staged readings woven through interviews of survivors.
It's chlling, it's practically unthinkable, and tragically haunting. Films like these serve a higher education purpose beyond the artistic value deemed. Please see it. Pass it on.
