Review of Nancy Drew (2007) by Marie-Pier D — 14 Sep 2009
Get hip. Get wild. Get a clue. In the town of River Heights there's no mystery that Nancy Drew can't solve. Now, with her magnifying glass and fingerprint powder in her hand, this small-town girl is moving to Los Angeles on one of her father's business trips. But not to meet that guy on Smallville, as her boyfriend Ned fears. While trying to fit in with life in Hollywood Nancy comes across her latest mystery about a long-unsolved crime involving the mysterious death of beautiful actress Dehlia Draycott.
Directed by Andrew Fleming, Nancy Drew features great acting performances from the following cast:
1.) Emma Roberts (Nancy Drew).
2.) Josh Flitter (Corky).
3.) Max Thieriot (Ned).
4.) Rachael Leigh Cook (Jane).
5.) Tate Donovan (Carson Drew).
Nancy Drew is a great film adaptation of the Carolyn Keene book series as our leading star, Emma Roberts, does a good job in playing the character. As I can agree with others, she's definitely following in the footsteps of her world-famous aunt Julia. The film works like your average teen flick with the electronic-savvy teen queens of mean walking around and their own sense of lifestyles. Plus, even in the 21st century world, some scenes involving hat-wearing men makes it look retro. What a fun sleuthing flick for the whole family...and I'm glad I wasn't bored by it.
