Review of Nana 2 (2006) by Manda L — 08 Nov 2011
The first one is better than this sequel film based on the manga comic book. I was surprised that a sequel was eventually made, unfortunately Nana 2 fails to live up to the previous film's success and instead seems like a rushed, ill-conceived and confused sequel featuring "best of" moments from the comic and anime but with little of the emotional impact.
Nakashima Mika again does admirable work as the enigmatic and alluring Nana O. She is the best thing about the movie and her scenes are always enjoyable to watch. I was little disappointed to see Aoi Miyazaki as Hachi in the previous Nana film didn't appear in this sequel, Yui Ichikawa, who replaced as the new Hachi, is average in her acting. And there went for character Ren too.
