Review of Naked Lunch (1991) by Paulysses H — 10 Sep 2008
Thought provoking and surprisingly watch-able. Those who complain about its irrationality and non linear nature really are missing the point. Compared to Burroughs' own ventures in film-making this is pretty linear light-hearted stuff.
Peter Weller is also excellent in this film, far out-performing his stereotyping as Robocop (though arguably he is also excellent in those films). Overall an enjoyable, if slightly disturbing watch, but far more accessible than much of its source material.
