I watched this movie years ago, when I was at the peak of thinking I knew everything, and didn't get it. Now that I can stew my own folly like it's lunch, I'm a little closer to appreciating this movie's brilliance, Cronenberg's aggressive in-your-face style, Peter Weller's animated mumble, Judy Davis's ambivalent beauty of a wife and the quirks of Burroughs captured, revered dead-on.
The centipedes, the talking-asshole typewriter agents, gay twink sluts, and prose all in between, Naked Lunch is a feast in surreal, biographical filmmaking.
