Review of Naked Lunch (1991) by Glenna S — 11 Jan 2011
While the movie is named after the novel, this is not an adaptation. Cronenberg has weaved the personal life of William S. Burroughs along with his works of fiction to examine the writing process and style of Burroughs as he wrote Naked Lunch.
The pacing and plot of the film flows at a dreamlike pace that may be confusing, but still makes some kind of primitive sense. A great insight into the troubled mind of one of the greatest and influential writers of the twentieth century.
