Review of Naked Lunch (1991) by Alex K — 22 Mar 2011
A troubling, mind-trip much like Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas, only without the familiarity of a world WITHOUT the drugs. The film twists you like a pretzel to the point of giving in (unless you're a strong one), layering metaphors side-by-side with giant bugs and the most disturbing alien/rape scene I have ever scene.
Infinitely compelling and disturbing, it's the 90's bizarre cousin to Eraserhead.
