Review of Naked Lunch (1991) by Max H — 24 Nov 2011
One of Cronenberg's better outings, visually well-done and full of metaphorical brilliance. Peter Weller brings of bit of a noir with his stonefaced performance in the role of Bill Lee, and the talking bugs element isn't used as a gimmick in the film.
At some points incredibly hard to follow, but Cronenberg manages to make this mish mash of Burrough's Naked Lunch and life into a work of his own, much like Kubick's The Shining.
