Certainly not for anybody. You should like Cronenberg; his explicit images and his humour. The gadgets and puppets are meant to be cheap; in my opinion; and he also likes to save money to be able to have the most exquisit cast.

There is no linear story as Naked Lunch doesn't have one either. Some interesting reflections though : writer's block - and I think that doesn't only appeal to writers; drug abuse of any form and kind; and that beast or thing or force that keeps us doing wrong things again and again.

same goes for self destructive acts. Did I understand the film ? No. Neither do I fully understand those subjects; but I love reflecting about them. Also - a piece of art doesn't need to be understood but felt .
