One of Clint Eastwood's most expertly-directed movies, Mystic River is dark and humorless to be sure, but it's also incredibly well-acted and engrossing. Sean Penn and Tim Robbins give especially incredible performances, making Mystic River a must-see as both a demonstration of exceptional acting and exceptional storytelling.
