Review of Mystic River (2003) by Ryan V — 09 Feb 2012
This drama surrounds how a murdered teenager spurs both figurative and literal bad blood between a group of former childhood friends. Clint Eastwood's well-paced direction is paired with a veritable dream team of actors.
Sean Penn and Tim Robbins both collected Oscars for their work, but Kevin Bacon, Marcia Gay Harden, and Laurence Fishburne all contribute much to this film. It's a little too depressing for regular viewing, but Mystic River is certainly worth seeing.
