Review of Mystic River (2003) by Don S — 04 May 2013
Powerful performances by Sean Penn and Tim Robbins, accompanied by the tense direction of Eastwood, makes this a must-see drama. The story hooks you from the start, and the over 2 hour playing time just seems to fly on past.
A couple of the Boston accents seem off, but this is a small quibble. Questionable morality makes most of the characters unlikeable and dark, so I can't say it was "enjoyable," but it sure is moving and effective.
