Review of Mystic Pizza (1988) by Ian F — 01 Apr 2008
So use your imagination and imagine a coglomirate of all of Julia Robert's chracters into one body. This would be Daisy a mixture that is a lot of Vivian, a little bit of Julianna, a little bit of Erin and really while I love her you've got her catalogue of characters.
But that was the shame here; you know its Julia, its Julia, she will be Julia and you can't get past it, or the fact you feel you've seen her do this before (you really haven't yet but since most of us have, you have- but better, much better).
Plus I think even the lines she says come from here- I am sure she has said "What do you want BLANK" in at least every movie she has been in! But other than that the horribly predictable story is the worst part.
You can tell how it ends from about ten minutes in! Plus some of the stories...the guys just aren't likable, you want them to fail but you knoe rom-coms! But the best part...really the only good part was all the "I know them" moments, Matt Damon for two seconds, the guy from Law & Order: CI, the maid from Two and a Hlf Men.
Yup that was the best part, I didn't even laugh much- I did, but not much! Skip it, go for Julia's later stuff!
