Review of Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie (1996) by Jacob O — 04 Jul 2008

Thanks to an apathetic studio, this is kind of a dumbed down, shortened(!) big-screen version of MST3K. Figuring audiences wouldn't respond to a truly bad movie for Mike and the 'bots to riff, they chose the well-regarded 50s sci-fi movie This Island Earth.

The slightly higher budget and production values are nice but it's by design less esoteric and frankly less funny than the show.
