Review of Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie (1996) by Adam C — 08 Aug 2008

Awfully funny movie adaptation of the cult TV series. For those of you that don't know the set-up, it's like this: An evil scientist thinks he can rule the world by showing the citizens crappy '50s sci-fi films.

To test this, he has a test subject (Michael Nelson) up in a dog bone-shaped space station, with two wise-cracking robots, as they view these horrible films. The film in the movie is "This Island Earth" (which really isn't that bad of a film), but the commentary that the three deliver during the film is hilarious, ad-libbing lines into the movie.

This makes up for the lackluster scenes that take place when they're watching the movie.
