Review of Mystery Men (1999) by Joe C — 17 Jan 2011
There are worse movies to spend time with--but of what I would group into the "mediocre" category, this is closer to the bottom of the pile than the top. Nothing really interesting going on here--just a typical "small guys have to save the day" kind of thing.
Too silly for adults, too adult for children, Mystery Men doesn't really have an ideal audience. Ben Stiller is worse than normal, the jokes are just... not at all funny. Really, the only bright point in the movie is the awkward appearance by Tom Waits.
