Review of Mystery Men (1999) by Rater W W — 02 Feb 2012
This is a seriously underrated original and subversive film. The main characters are quirky and interesting, and the plot departs seriously from the usual formula for a film in this genre. Their very unusual powers make for a funny satire of the typical superhero movie.
Although everyone is funny, Janeane Garofolo, Tom Waits,Bill Macy, and Hank Azaria are real standouts. This is a great movie to see with your kids. One caveat: this movie is not for very young children.
