This film by Araki is nothing short of unique. Its subject is brutal and arkward but is indearingly addressed realistically and unglamourised. Levitt is amazing in this fillm and along with the other three leads, who give a realistic but disturbing depiction of self discovery, paedaphilia and prostestution.

Although it is a touchy subject considering the child abuse, themes are addressed in a gritty, ultra realist style that makes the film raw but powerful. The non- resolution ending, is hard hitting, harrowing and somehow becomes personal as is it leaves you questioning yourself and others around you.
