Review of Mysterious Skin (2005) by Lilianetty L — 30 Jul 2010
I still can't believe this. Is a very moving story with an excelent cast. I cried, but of anger. You will get my anger when you get to watch this film. This is one of the reasons somehow I don't like my race...the humans.
Plot: 2 different stories, one same conclusion. How puberty strikes you and put you the hard of the goals. How parents can help you or just leave you at your own risk to live the world. Just how bad humans can be? This is part of been a teen, and how to deal with the life that is ahead of you. Strong story but with a message at the end that will leave you thinking if living is good or bad. Is your choice.
Acting: Joseph Gordon-Levitt at his best. That character, that Neil McCormick, how strong and difficult character and how he pull it off with his best acting ever. Realy, those are the characters people think are not strong enough, but those characters are the reason that put you to think: Why humans do that? Why they take those risks? He did amazing and I realy loved his character. Brady Corbet as Brian, another one who realy pull off his character. What a talent. Michelle was amazing, I did enjoy her character too. Jeff did marvelous, same Mary Lynn (the 24 star). Chase Ellison for his age did wonderful. Another strong character (and that makes Neil even more special). True talent. I got inspired seriously.
Music: Very dramatic, very strong and powerful. The theme was strong, and if your not open mind, then you did not enjoy either the music.
To end this review, 4 stars of 5. A very powerful movie with a feeling that will make you think and think hard. The teen years are the hardest, the one of the hardest decisions to make and realize how fast they just pass and leave you thinking if you did the right thing, if your parents educate you at their best and if people treat you with respect. Enjoy my review and realy, respect is the key of everything. PEACE TO ALL OF YOU!
