Review of Mysterious Skin (2005) by Bronwynn C — 26 Aug 2010
This movie is the best LGBT drama ever filmed. It's difficult to watch, since it deals with child molestation, but the film is very against the sexual abuse of children. It's very moving, very original, and extremely well directed and performed.
I think it's a tragedy that this beautiful film (Note taken that it is innapropriate for children) got an NC-17 rating, the same rating as Pink Flamingos. This is not a John Waters trash film, it's a difficult, beautiful, heartfelt indie drama that is hard to shake once you have seen it.
