Review of Mysterious Skin (2005) by Elise S — 16 Oct 2010
The most haunting film I've ever seen. The subject is so disturbing that some event are extremely painful, even to watch, and it's sticks to your mind for a long time. Don't watch it if you're only interested in Hollywood formulas like happy-ending-you-can-go-to-bed-now-without-even-the-slightest-htought-about this film; it's a true challenge and you won't get it off your mind very easily.
This might sound threatening, but if you are interested in seeing it, my advice to you would be to do it, because this film is raw, real, powerful and above all honest. The best film from this century I have seen up till now.
