Review of Mysterious Skin (2005) by Joshua L — 07 Feb 2012

Holy shit! I always thought 'Happiness' pushed the boundary for it's take on Paedophilia until I saw this. You need more than Mysterious Skin to watch this film, you needs to be thick as leather.

Its often realistic and disturbing sexual acts will almost stay forever. Definitely not one for everyone or anyone easily shocked, Mysterious Skin in its own though is brilliantly done, from its script and concept, to its performances and settings.

By pairing off two opposite characters against each other it balances itself out, though the charcter of Neil and his cold, dark quest is what really sets the film apart(not that's it close to anything).

Definitely something else and a recommendation for all film orientated people.
