After seeing at least a half dozen really ambitious films, it was sort of refreshing to see a total piece of mediocrity like MY WORST NIGHTMARE. This film is actually worse than an average episode of a bad network sitcom like HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.
Like playwright Yasmina Reza, actress turned writer turned director, Anne Fontaine has achieved international success with a series of truly banal and mediocre films that achieve nothing. But success does bring great actors like Isabelle Huppert and Benoit Poelvoorde.
But even Huppert can't revive this hack job.
