Review of My Week with Marilyn (2011) by Karen V — 25 Apr 2012
Kenneth Branagh is absolutely the star of this picture, as Sir Laurence Olivier. He perfectly captures the English charm and sometimes arrogance of the Shakespearean stage legend, while also dominating the anger and frustration of working with needy, dependent Marilyn Monroe.
The film left me heartbroken for her, and Williams' performance was uncanny. It's no wonder both of these actors were nominated for Oscars. The rest of the cast was very good, the script fantastic, the scenery gorgeous.
..Spot on filmmaking.
