Review of My Week with Marilyn (2011) by Ken C — 26 Jul 2012
A warm and jocund semi-bopic about one boy's dreamy week, when he got a chance to fall in love with the pop culture icon, the great Marilyn Monroe. While Michelle Douglas may be not as pretty as the famous actress really was (subjective point of view), she still does a great impression and is able to astound with her style and perfectly subtle mannerism.
in the beautiful British countryside, one boy's fantasy is about to come true, as he has the once-in-a-lifetmime chance of working on a production set for a movie starring Mrs. Monroe. As he starts to spend day after day with the star, he develops a relationship with her, although not sexual, yet deeply emotional.
He discovers how unhappy and full of complexes she really is, and although she might shine onscreen, she is unable to cope with her rich and fast-paced life. While the script intends to be easy and full of joy, My Week with Marilyn comes as a satisfying drama with a comedic twist.
