Review of My Week with Marilyn (2011) by Lysann B — 14 Apr 2012
I was sceptical at first, that Michelle Williams should play Marilyn Monroe. Nobody can ever catch her in full, but the longer you watch, the more you forget Michelle and become drawn in the story. It is appalling what was suffering through: men first use and then abandoned her, the search for someone to love her and the pills to keep her going.
It's a sad movie about a damaged girl who just wanted to be loved. And Michelle Williams was the perfect choice to transport this fragile but mesmerising character. A triumph for her as an actress.
