Review of My Week with Marilyn (2011) by Matthew D — 25 Apr 2014
Effortlessly classy, heartbreakingly vulnerable and tenderly insecure, Michelle Williams' shining turn as the titular icon is heart-rending, driving what is an already adequate film with a spectacular A-list supporting cast (particular highlights include Emma Watson and acerbic Kenneth Branagh as Sir Lawrence Olivier) into an award-worthy masterpiece.
But, as once noted, Ms Williams indeed deserves the end bravo in the picture.
