1 out of 4 stars.

Hell hath no fury like a super-woman scorned.

With a premise as unpredictable as any movie premise can be, My Super Ex-Girlfriend is surprisingly predictable. I knew I couldn't expect a good movie, but how could I have anticipated this? What I expected to be passable comedy fluff was, in fact, a unacceptably predictable and unfunny mess. Watching the movie was bearable enough, but I did not enjoy it at all. Just because the film has a fantastic cast doesn't mean it can get away with being unfunny, which in the end is what the movie is. I did not laugh once. The only truly enjoyable thing about the film is Uma Thurman.

Basically the whole setup is to show Thurman, an undercover super-hero named Jenny Johnson, destroy her ex-boyfriend's life, Matt Saunders, for breaking up with her. She can dish out mega-hard revenge. With a super-hero name like G-Girl, you know she doesn't play around. I admit, at first I liked the way the plot sounded in the description, but in the actual movie it is not good.

The movie has a lot of sexual content, and it had some funny ideas. Unfortunately, the delivery of these ideas come across as corny. Maybe on paper these gags looked funny, but in the final production they are far from it. A sexual scene has Uma Thurman try to have experimental sex with Luke Wilson while she is flying in full super hero gear, and it is supposed to be funny, but it just looks creepy and it is one of the many epic fail jokes in the movie.

I can't see how watching Uma Thurman beat her ex-girlfriend for a stupid reason is funny. Watching her blow him into bookshelves, write "DICK" on his face with her laser vision and choking him was annoying. Nothing about it is funny.

Still, the movie managed to become even worst when a former love interest of G-Girl comes into the plot, and it begins to tread into bad, predictable territory. And then we get a superhero climax that is so cheesy that I wanted to turn the movie off and return it to the DVD store.

The talent of the cast is wasted. Uma Thurman, Luke Wilson, Anna Faris and Wanda Sykes are great actors, but they picked the wrong movie.

Wanda Sykes manages to get a laugh in there, but the movie is still just unenjoyable.

My Super-Ex Girlfriend is a dumb and brainless waste of perfectly usable brain cells.

I end this review with a question. How in the world can any woman, superhero or not, move an entire bedframe with her pelvis and not kill the dude underneath her? Does he have Balls of Steel? God Bless 'Em.
