Review of My Summer of Love (2005) by Simon G — 16 Jun 2012
A wonderfully affecting story of a summer friendship between two girls from opposite ends of the class scale. Set in a sleepy village in the Yorkshire countryside, the film is both compelling and sweet, director Pawel Pawlikowski making excellent use of the beautiful locations, and despite being slightly predictable in terms of where the girl's friendship is heading the film is never dull due to excellent characterisation and outstanding performances from it's three central characters.
A real gem.
