Review of My Soul to Take (2010) by Jean-François D — 20 Feb 2011
I'm on the fence for this one. I loved the plot, and the first 15 minutes are extraordinary, but for every tremendous scene there is a really bad one. It almost feels as if it were rushed into production too soon, so that the concept couldn't be fully developed.
Regardless, I hesitate to say that I disliked it. In fact I quite liked a lot of it, but I can't quite recommend it because of some really poorly handled scenes. If you are a fan of the genre, see it.
If not, you won't be missing much, sad as it is to say. Hopefully Wes's next film will be more up to his caliber.
