Review of My Soul to Take (2010) by Cassandra S — 09 Apr 2011
Dialog has never been Wes Craven's strong suit, and here he's aping Kevin Williamson. To his credit, Craven has always been able to come up with interesting premises to explore, and this one is no exception.
There's plenty of nice twisty turns that caught me off guard (even if viewers can identify both the Red Herring and the Killer pretty quickly). It would just be nice if Craven would make an adult horror film with an adult cast.
It's as if he started at the appropriate age bracket with LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, and has since been appealing towards a younger and younger crowd while aging himself farther from the target demographic.
