I actually enjoyed this. When you watch this you need to approach it more the way you would a approach a old 80's/90's horror film. Think Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St.

It has more of the old fashioned fear; don't expect the gore factor to be 21st century like SAW.

The acting did feel a little twilightish but I think that was the point to make it old-fashioned and in my opinion very comedic. Certain parts got me laughing and the plot kept me entertained; on the other hand the dialogue at times confused me but then it also had it's witty moments.

The movie could have had more of a character development and there really wasn't enough time for the audience to get attached to the characters before they died abruptly, but you have to take into account the Ripper has the time limit of the anniversary of his death. Things are going to be rushed in the matter of 24hours during "Ripper Day/7 children Birthdays" (via movie standard time... if that makes any sense).

Who cares if you can figure who the real killer is from the beginning of the movie, when you look back on other horror movies you'll find that a lot of them can be predictable.

For the people who are harshly criticizing this movie: If the movie was able to keep you watching till the end then it must have done something right otherwise why would you have watched it? Seriously man, at least Wes tried writing something new, in contrast to this new fab of remaking movies lately.
