Review of My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done (2010) by Shawn-Ray M — 25 Oct 2010
I'll admit I was drawn to this movie because of David Lynch's involvement (as well as having Willem Dafoe in it), but I was unprepared for how bizarre it actually was. It wasn't bizarre like a David Lynch movie but rather was so surreal it almost became a hyper-reality.
I guess it's what you can expect from Werner Herzog. There's a lot of good to be found in this movie, especially with Michael Shannon. The downside is that the story is told through a series of flashbacks and at times seem to really drag.
. but the farther into the tale you get, the more bizarre it becomes. Definitely one to check out.
