Review of My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done (2010) by Noel V — 03 Dec 2010
Good fun. Herzog takes the basic premise--boy kills mother with sword--and makes it reflect his to put it mildly unique sensiibllity. Herzog adds yet another to his large collection of visionary obsessives, out to either see the world or conquer it; he even manages a few Lynchism ("now that's one good cup of coffee, ma'am"), presumably in honor of the executive producer.
It's a slight doodle but Herzog's doodles are often more fascinating than other filmmakers' epic career highlights.
