On occasion I felt this film was trying too hard to make me cry and it just felt a bit uncomfortable and awkward (I mean the scenes where nothing happens but sad music plays for a very, very long time.
..) To be honest, it didn't need to try this hard - it's a sad story and if you're the kind to cry at films, this one is probably going to make you cry! It's a good film. It just happens to be a better book.
