Review of My Sister's Keeper (2009) by Valerie P — 09 Feb 2011
Just like the book, this film tells a touching and thought-provoking story. Anna was brought into the world as a special match for her cancer-stricken sister's DNA. She began the process of saving her sister's life as a newborn, and after many operations and hospitalizations it still continues.
As the cancer progresses, Anna is expected to donate a kidney. Will her decision to sue her parents for the rights to her own body tear her family apart? An interesting twist in the plot makes this movie all the more fascinating.
Having just lost my father to cancer, it was hard to watch in places. Ultimately, however, it makes us realize that we all must let go some time.
