Review of My Own Private Idaho (1991) by Matthew A — 18 Aug 2012
Rewatched my own private idaho and realized itâ(TM)s on my top movie list. it took 3 viewings over several years to secure this spot. the first time I saw it, I didnâ(TM)t understand it, I wasnâ(TM)t even sure if I liked it.
but images and emotions stuck with me in ways I couldnâ(TM)t understand or explain. the second time I âwatchedâ? it as I was doing work, so I really didnâ(TM)t pay attention. but the other night I bought the criterion dvd and sat down to go back into this world that gus van sant captured so sensitively, poetically.
