This is probably my favorite film from director Gus Van Sant. The film delves deep into the psyche and pang of a gay street hustler, played brilliantly by the late River Phoenix, and with Van Sant's artistic/ poetic treatment in regards to its source material, the whole journey turns out to engage me on an emotional level more than I expected.
"Idaho" also features an extremely magnetic performance from Keanu Reeves. The protagonist Mike's (River Phoenix) confession of his unrequited love at the campfire scene was also one of the most genuinely moving cinematic moments I've seen.
