Review of My Own Private Idaho (1991) by Sonia C — 26 Oct 2009
At times, this film is both despairing and tragic. Reeves and Phoenix are wonderful in this movie about betrayal, prostitution and unrequited love. River Phoenix's unrequited love really struck a chord deep within me and his performance is heartfelt and melancholy.
The documentary style and Shakespeare add in contrast to one another; an unrealistic and realistic feel to the film.
