Review of My Own Private Idaho (1991) by Robyn M — 27 Aug 2012
Missed the mark, failed to impress.
Gus Van Sant is famous for movies that beat to it's own drum. His 30 years of work seperates him from all other filmmakers. But in My Own Private Idaho the oddity proves to be too much.
I choose this film because its season with great actors and on paper appears promising and edgy. Something I look for in films. Sadly this off kiltered movie, lacks a plot with very little substance and fails at keeping a steady pace.
