Review of My One and Only (2009) by Nikki L — 11 Dec 2009
Absolutely enjoyable. Funny, amusing, touching, ironic, and 98% unpredictable. I feel as if I were riding the journey with them. Though sometimes Ann's accent did bother me a little - well I suppose that is a symbol of class at that period of time. :).
Maybe it is hard to imagine how people can handle all these - a philandering husband and obviously not a father material, two sons with totally opposite views of life and one is supportive; one is judgmental, wealthy replacement mate turned out to be a jerk obsessed with military discipline, a sister suffers from infertility and jealous of what she has, etc.
In reality, love just wears disguises but never subsides. So is the unbreakable family bond, the greatest love in the world.
