Review of My One and Only (2009) by Jeff B — 04 Jan 2010
So so comedy/drama starring Renee Zellweger as a mother who leaves husband Kevin Bacon and takes her two teenage sons on a cross country road trip searching for a new husband. It's basically just a series of little stories that happen with each stop across the country, each attempt failing.
Nothing really amazing but nothing horrible. Like the title, the film is sort of forgettable. The acting is fine, Renee is fun, though she seems like Melanie Griffith in the similar forgettable film Crazy in Alabama.
The younger son Logan Lerman is good, sort of a less expensive Zac Efron. The end happened too fast and everything worked too perfectly, but overall, it's an okay film. Catch it on TV someday, but don't bother spending money on it.
