Review of My Name Is Khan (2010) by Rajarshi B — 08 Aug 2010
Nice work by SRK!! (I'm beginning to like him now).
Kajol: below expectation (sorry gal, your bar is set too high).
The movie catered to a lot of stuff that I wanted to see on screen.
Johar also impressed me with an awesome screenplay. The gradual change in Khan's character is portrayed very well...
His eyes went watery at the church with Mamma Jenny's gang --- he struggles to fit in a loud crowd --- he asks for a hug and said ILU2, bluntly --- then teardrop appeared at the corner of his eye --- Khan finally managed to walk among crowd with ease (the noise still disturbing him a bit).
Most desi films still don't follow Hollywood's golden "3 act story" structure. They don't need to (Hollywood isn't the end of the rabbit hole). However they always can stop dragging the storyline. Then again... Forest Gump was painfully lengthy too (its not a copy of Forest Gump).
