Review of My Name Is Khan (2010) by Justin B — 23 Sep 2010
An example of the maturing of Indian cinema. The genuine and respectful portrayal of an Indian immigrant with Asberger's Syndrome discovering America and the masterful manner in which the director and actors brought the sincere and passionate love of the leads to the screen without betraying that condition was beautiful.
In typical Bollywood style, there are some slight departures from reality and some beautiful music and emotional scenes. Unlike usual Bollywood, the realism was heightened and benefitted from not having the usual big dance scenes but relying on the songs that spring naturally among us.
