Review of My Name Is Khan (2010) by Polly D — 26 Oct 2010
Rizwan Khan is an Indian Muslim man with Aspergers Syndrome, akin to the Autism Spectrum Disorder. He marries a Hindu woman who has a teenage son. Their son is killed in a racist attack by a group of boys at his school. This occurs after the 9/11 attacks. So, Rizwan goes on a mission to meet the President of America to say that " My Name Is Khan and I Am Not A Terrorist". He helps many people who also helped him on his journey to Washington and eventually met the President. Justice was also gained for his son's death in the murderers being finally arrested.
This film raises awareness about Autism and Aspergers Syndrome and touched my heart!
