Review of My Name Is Khan (2010) by Perry Z — 20 Feb 2012
"There are only two kinds of people in this world. Good people who do good deeds. And bad people who do bad. That's the only difference in human beings. There's no other difference.".
This is one of the most moving movies I've ever seen. In some ways, I share the same social incompetence and naivety as Khan, a Muslim with Asperger's Syndrome and who had lost everything after Sept 11, insisted on making the trip to the capitol to tell the president that "My Name is Khan, and I am not a terrorist." It has taught me that we are truly all born and wired differently, and that the some of the most socially awkward people, those who are perhaps perceived to have the EQ of a 5-year old, are sometimes the sincerest of all.
