The first half of this film which consists of backstory and a romance between Shah Rukh Khan's Asperger's character and Kajol's single mom character is absolutely magical and delightful! It is Karan Johar at his romantic best. But I can only give the movie 3 stars because it goes completely off the rails in the second half; from the divine to the ridiculous.
Shah Rukh Khan is outstanding throughout but he deserved a movie with a better second half to showcase his amazingly touching and believable performance.
