This movie was ok, but definitely not the 80% rating given it...more like 60%. The movie starts off a lot better than it ends, when the movie turns into a propaganda piece. For instance, I felt the movie exaggerated the racism occuring after 9/11 by white Americans towards Central Asian/Middle Eastern people.

Being a white American myself, I accept that this did occur, but to the extent portrayed by this movie...particularly to this one family living in the perhaps the most liberal city in the U.S., San Francisco.

..seriously?! A bit of a stretch I think...and just exacerbates racial profiling of white Americans to minority groups in the U.S. and people in other countries watching the film. The film's message seems only concerned about the racial profiling of Pakistani and Central Asian people, while ignoring how it portrays white Americans as racist bigots.

I live in Texas, the Bible Belt, and perhaps one of the most xenophobic states in the U.S.. My closest friend's family is the only Pakistani family I know of in town, and they never encountered such racism.

Although some people did suffer post 9/11 due to racial profiling of Muslims...I think this movie serves mainly to increase animocity towards white Americans. Also...it's cliche, borrowing too much from Forrest Gump and the hurrican scene was poorly/cheaply shot, looking too much like a studio set.

I thought the acting was well done, haven't met too many people with Asperger's though.
